I am so sorry for what I posted about you on Facebook. It doesn't matter that I thought you were blocked from that status update. I never should have said such a thing publicly. I feel just horrible, and I know that pales in comparison to how you must be feeling right now. There is truly no excuse for what I did.
Please let me know if there is anything at all I can do to make it up to you. I understand if my thoughtless words spell the end to our friendship. I would like to post a public apology, but I don't want to draw more attention to the situation if that would cause you embarrassment or make things more uncomfortable that they already are.
I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, but please know that I am deeply ashamed of myself.
