You were right to {scold/ignore/etc.} me. I’ve cried wolf so many times that it’s no surprise that this time I was met with exasperation rather than empathy.
What happened is my own fault. I wish I could go back in time and never send out false alarms. I don’t know if I was seeking attention, suffering from some kind of mental health pathology, or both. What I do know is that I deeply regret the worry and inconvenience I have caused when I sounded the alarm that something was wrong when it wasn’t.
I completely understand if you no longer wish to {role}. Regardless, I do hope that you will accept my apology. I am doing some deep work on myself to figure out why I have behaved this way, and I hope that I can one day earn your trust.
