Apology For Downplaying Pandemic

Dear {Name},

I owe you a huge apology. You were right about Covid-19 all along, and I never should have downplayed the pandemic.

Now, {I’ve tested positive/I am very sick/my family member has died/etc.}. I regret that it took this to make me realize what you had been telling me all along. I was careless, and now I’m paying the price.

I know that I told you that I “did my own research,” but in retrospect I was listening to anti-science charlatans. I am now {no longer spreading misinformation/not listening to certain personalities/reading reliable medical news sources/etc.}.

I hope and pray that you and yours make it through this deadly pandemic. I am grateful that my foolishness has not cost me my health, and I regret the times that I interacted with others with disregard for their health.
