I'm so sorry that a wonderful sleepover resulted in {child} contracting head lice. Please believe that I had no idea that my child was carrying them! It wasn't until {school notice/your report/etc.} that I checked and found the little stinkers. Not just eggs, but adult lice, too, so I know {child} has had them for awhile.
We dealt with lice in our household a few years ago, and I know what a hassle it will be for you to clear up the problem. I hope you'll allow me to help by {paying for topical treatment/referring to professional lice remover/etc}. I have found that {method} is an effective approach.
