I didn’t know I had Covid when I came over, and of course I would never have knowingly exposed your {family/office}. I mistakenly thought that since I {was wearing a mask/was previously infected/had vaccine and booster/was socially distancing} that I was being safe. It was foolish of me to visit just days after I {was myself exposed/attended large event/etc.}.

This experience has taught me to take the pandemic more seriously and to have a deeper level of respect for others, especially those who are more vulnerable to this terrible virus.
