I was a total jerk at your wedding. There is no excuse. I was {drunk/grieving/breaking up/etc.}. I had no idea that I was going to {get so out of control/insult people/etc.} or I never would have attended. I am truly mortified.
This was a real wake-up call for me. I am now {in recovery/getting counseling/etc.}.
