I'm sorry for not being a team player on {project}.
I've realized that while I prefer to work alone, there are many benefits to teamwork. It was great being able to bounce ideas off of {coworker}. And I enjoyed {portion of project}. Where it all broke down was when {collaboration element}.
After reflecting on my group performance, I realize now that I was too focused on {minutiae/maintaining control/my own ego/etc.}. Please know that I'm addressing these deficiencies within myself and am committed to excellence in our next team project.
